The latest from our lab
Ornella Urzì joins the team
Ornella is joining us as a PostDoc, working on in vitro models of sarcomagensis. Welcome Ornella!
ERC consolidator grant
for Eleni Tomazou
Eleni has won a Consolidator Grant of the European Research Council (ERC)! The funded project is based on a “build it to understand it” approach to model Ewing sarcoma in vitro and in vivo based on human pluripotent stem cells. Read the press release here. Congrats Eleni!
Peter Peneder wins Life Science Research Award Austria 2022
Peter received the Life Science Research Award Austria 2022 in the category "excellence and societal impact" for his paper on liquid biopsies of patients with pediatric tumors. Congrats Peter!
Matteo Colombo joins the team
Matteo is joining us as a PhD student, working on ribosomes and their contribution to pediatric sarcomas. Welcome Matteo!
Our new paper is out!
We're excited to announce that our tool LIQUORICE has been published in Bioinformatics Advances: "LIQUORICE: detection of epigenetic signatures in liquid biopsies based on whole-genome sequencing data". LIQUORICE is available as command-line tool and python package - read more here.
Release: New version of LIQUORICE
We have released an upgraded, more user-friendly version of our tool LIQUORICE, which can be used to detect tissue- or cancer-specific epigenetic signatures in whole genome sequencing data of liquid biopsies. Read more here.
Talk: Peter Peneder presents at ISMB/ECCB 2021
Peter presented his work on data analysis for "epigenetic" liquid biopsies (publication) at the 2021 Conference on Intelligent Systems for Molecular Biology and the European Conference on Computational Biology.
Talk: Stefan Terlecki-Zaniewicz presents at the YoungEHA Research Meeting
Stefan presented his work about the role of biomolecular condensation in NUP98-fusion-driven leukemias at the 2021 virtual meeting of the European Hematology Association.
New grant: WWTF Life Sciences Call 2018
Our proposal to investigate the tumor micro-environment of Ewing sarcoma has been selected for funding at this year's life science call of the Vienna Science- and Technology fund (WWTF)! Read more here.
